Spring has sprung, summer is almost here, and it’s time
to get ready for longer days and warmer weather. Our
May Issue celebrates PETS and in Pensacola, we love our
four-legged friends. Owning a pet increases our chances
of being happy and successful, according to a study.
Experts who polled 1,000 dog and cat owners found those
with canine and feline companionships were twice as
likely to consider themselves a success.
In May we also observe Mother’s Day, a time to
celebrate motherhood and it is a time to appreciate
mothers and mother figures. With the arrival of warmer
weather, we eagerly look forward to signature summer
events along the Emerald Coast. Cultural activities, fun
festivals, lecture series, and athletic events. Here’s what’s
up on the Emerald Coast… May kicks off with Cinco de
Mayo celebrations, The Big Scoop benefiting Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Northwest Florida at Community Maritime
Park, the Graffiti Bridge 5k, and Brunch & Bubbles 2019
benefiting Gulf Coast Kid’s House, just to name a few.
We finish the month observing Memorial Day remembering and honoring persons who have died while
serving in the United States Armed Forces.
We are sharing some PYSK - Pet’s You Should Know, and our Pet Cuisine gives tips and a recipe
on Making Your Own Pet Food. Many of our advertisers are pet lovers, be sure to support our fine
advertisers.
Check out our Give Care Share on the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida. Our Style feature
profiles Sparking Joy with Fashion and our Swizzle feature previews Hair of the Dog with tips and
recipes when you have been over served. I Am Destin completes our PET Issue with a spotlight on
Peggy Davis an animal lover and local business owner.
And, don’t forget BEST IN PENSACOLA voting starts May 13, our readers have nominated, and
the top 10 are listed on the ballot to pick the BEST IN PENSACOLA 2019. Vote every day, May 13 –
31, to support your favorite categories.
Take time to enjoy all the spring activities, get out and enjoy all the events our area has to offer. Enjoy
your May issue of
VIP Pensacola…and we look forward to seeing you again next month.
