and Ballet Pensacola presented
the live Painting and Happy
Hour on Thursday, March 29.
Gulf Coast artist Nina Fritz was the center
of attention, performing a live painting
demonstration of professional dancer
Scarlett Rustemeyer, from Ballet Pensacola.
Guests were served hors d’oeuvres from the
Pensacola Fish House, and treated to a very
special amaretto style cocktail created by
Old Hickory Whiskey Bar. Included in the
ticket price was one entry to the drawing for
the completed painting by Nina, which was
won by Dee Renfroe.
Ballet Pensacola is the area’s only
resident professional ballet company and
presents a varied repertoire of classical and
contemporary works throughout the year.
Ballet Pensacola has served Northwest
Florida by developing an appreciation
and knowledge of the art of dance through
excellent performances and quality dance
education. The company is comprised of
professional dancers from around the world,
and talented student dancers who perform
in all main stage productions during the
season. These performances are held in a
number of venues, including the Saenger
Theatre and the Pensacola Cultural Center.
Nina Fritz’s love of painting blossomed
after a lifetime of artistry. She has studied
at the Philadelphia Museum of Art,
Silvermine Art School in Connecticut and
Pennsylvania Academy of Art, as well as
around the world in Japan, France, Italy,
and Spain. She enjoys membership in
several organizations, including a charter
membership of the Portrait Society of
America and Oil Painters of America.
Along with a friend, she founded Pensacola
Plein Air Artists.
