XX | VIP Pensacola
What is your hometown, what brought you to the Pensacola
area and how long have you been here?
I was born and raised in Blytheville, Arkansas. However, I’ve lived
here off and on for more than 20 years, so I consider the Pensacola Bay
Area home.
What is your profession and give a brief description of what
you do.
I’ve worked in the retail/public relations/marketing fi elds in different
capacities throughout my professional career. I’m currently the Chief
Community Offi cer for the UWF Historic Trust. My team and I are
responsible for marketing, membership, volunteers, special event
rentals, retail operations and customer service.
What led you to choose this profession?
As they say, life is a journey… however, I’ve always enjoyed working
with people. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with
a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Later, I earned
nationally recognized public relations and marketing credentials
from professional associations and a master’s degree in Strategic
Communication and Leadership from the University of West Florida.
I’m fortunate to be in a position that allows me to use all of my skills
and experience.
What do you like best about Pensacola? What makes it so
unique?
I love the diverse natural resources of the area…from beaches to
woodlands in a matter of minutes! I also love the fact that Pensacola
offers a variety of arts and cultural offering. And of course, its rich
history.
Give us three words that best describe you.
Happy. Loved. Fulfi lled.
Can you name some of your favorite things about Pensacola.
My husband, Mark, and I enjoy dinners at Aegean Breeze and Global
Grill as well as several waterfront dining spots, attending performances
of the Pensacola Opera and Pensacola Symphony and art exhibits at
the Pensacola Museum of Art and Artel Gallery. We also enjoy back-
tie events as well as Pensacola’s many laid-back outdoor festivals and
concerts.
I AM PENSACOLA because…
…I embrace the diversity, optimism, energy and forward thinking that
has positively shaped Pensacola’s past and present… and is essential to
a prosperous future.
