n Saturday, April 1, the 34th Annual Pensacola JazzFest was held at the Historic
Seville Square in Downtown Pensacola. The event was entirely free and open
to the general public. Jazz Pensacola operates the yearly event with help from
numerous corporate sponsors and community organizations. The festival is a

two-day celebration of America’s unique art form of Jazz. Held in the early spring, this festival
is presented by Jazz Pensacola volunteers who work all year long to deliver this event as their
annual gift to the community.

Being in Seville Square, patrons were able to watch performances under a gazebo, and had

plenty of space to pull up a chair and relax while listening to the talented artists. Local food
trucks and beverage vendors were available as well as offi cial JazzFest memorabilia. Proceeds
from the offi cial merchandise helps support the event to keep it a free event for loyal fans.

Several local school bands had the opportunity to perform, including Ransom Middle School

Jazz Band, Tate High School Jazz Band, the Student Jazz Competition Winners,  East Baton
Rouge Talented Arts Combo, Northwest Florida State College Jazz Band and the Honor Guard.

Headliners for the event were Wayne Bergeron featuring the Gulf Coast All-Star Collegiate

Jazz Band, Greg Abate Quintet, Annie Sellick and the Hot Club, and the Fusion Beat.
