K
rewe of Seville hosted their annual Mardi Gras Ball on February 2, at the
Hadji Shrine Temple. With the venue decorated by volunteers, secretary Lisa
Black said, “It feels like a magical night under the stars.” Food was catered
by Paulette Martin, owner of Nouveau Pastries and Catering, and Fortag
provided musical entertainment for the evening.
The krewe announced the 2019 King and Queen as Jerzy and Kris Sobski, who are
the first married couple to hold this position together. The board of directors were also
announced as follows: Captain Michael Wierzbicki, Vice-Captain Dan Harriot, Treasurer
Greg Wood, Secretary Lisa Black, Members at Large: Teri Thoming, Sylvia Ammons,
Linda Carleton, Cheryl Corbari, and Seville representative Nancy Rodriquez. The overall
theme for this season is “Bad to the bone.”
Krewe of Seville is a not for profit organization that originated in 1997, who participate
collectively in five parades a year. They also participate in local krewe fundraising efforts
and their charity committee works closely with local organizations to help with their
charitable needs.
