O
n February 1, the Pensacola Country Club hosted the Krewe of Pierrettes
for a night of fun and dancing. The Krewe of Pierrettes is one of Pensacola’s
oldest all-women Mardi Gras organizations, and was founded in 1956. The
group is based off a French clown and in tribute to the character, they dress
in the same black and white costume the clowns wore in the traditional era. The krewe
proudly fundraises and donates to a local charity chosen each year.
The night was full of mingling with friends and dancing. Everyone there, members and
their guests, got to enjoy good food and good music as the night went on. The room was
filled with Mardi Gras décor and beautiful lights- the perfect setting for the jazz music
playing. As the night went on, the members of the court got on the dance floor to show
off their skills with different dances around the world. The Krewe also had guest Samba
dancers who performed a fantastic show for everyone to watch at the end of the night.
