ocal culinary teams kicked off 
the Super Bowl at the Flora-
Bama’s “Super” Bowl Chili 
Cook-Off February 4 on Super 

Bowl Saturday. Teams of 3 registered and 
dressed up to show team spirit in hopes 
of winning the “Best Decorated Booth 
Contest.” Participants worked their chili 
wizardry to win their version of the best 
chili ever.

 Guests enjoyed unlimited chili samples, 

free beer or soda and six People’s Choice 
tickets to support their favorite team. 
Cooking began at 10am with tastings 
at noon and judging began at 1:30pm 
with awards given to first, second and 
third place teams as well as the people’s 
choice award. The legendary Flora-Bama 
Lounge was the perfect setting for this fun 
afternoon.

The Flora-Bama has continued this 

annual event since 1995 that benefits the 
American Cancer Society and Relay for 
Life.
