A
big party took place on April 22 at the Pensacola
Harley Davidson dealership on Pensacola Blvd. for the
purpose of raising money for Pathways for Change,
ECARE, and N.E. Pensacola Sertoma. Last year’s
event raised $25,000 for Pathways for Change, over $20,000 for
ECARE, and over $7,500 for Capstone.
This year, a donation of $100 for two people earned you a
chance at winning a current year model Harley Fat Boy valued
at over $20,000. Refreshments included a bottomless beer and
wine garden and delicious food was provided by over 15 local
restaurants that were serving up some of their signature dishes.
There was a live and silent auction that included a chance to bid
on two classic hot rods, which many people took advantage of
for selfies and dreamed of driving the high performance vehicles
home. One of the service bays was opened up for tables for diners
and the raffles. There was live music for folks to listen and dance
and the showroom was open for people to peruse their favorite hog
and maybe even take a test drive. Charlene McArthur, mother
of Sertoma organizer Gerald McArthur, drove all the way from
Tallahassee for the event. In its 13th year Hogfest continues to
grow and benefit its chosen charities by raising money in a fun
festive party atmosphere that many people come back for year
after year.
