P

lenty was going on in downtown
Pensacola on April 15. The
Pensacola Justice Jog 5K &
Street Party took place at 17 E.

Main St. It was a 5K and 1-mile fun run
through historic downtown Pensacola with
a family friendly street party that followed.
All proceeds from the Downtown Justice
Jog went to benefit the AWKO Justice
Foundation scholarship fund for local
high-school seniors. The AWKO Justice
Foundation gives “Justice Scholarships”
valued at a minimum of $1,000 to high
school seniors in Escambia and Santa Rosa
counties.

There was plenty to do for adults and

kids alike. Some people were dressed as
their favorite superhero and there was
a costume contest. For adults, there
was the Budweiser Beer Garden and
complimentary food tastings from local
restaurants. For the kids, there was face
painting, cotton candy, and an Easter
egg hunt. Kazoo, the mascot for the Blue
Wahoos, Mayor Ashton Hayward and his
wife An, and a special group of Marines
from Pensacola Naval Air Station all made
it to the Justice Jog.

The Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis &

Overholtz Justice Foundation sponsors a
Justice Hope Program that will be funded
through annual events such the Justice
Runs. Donations gathered through these
events will help purchase backpacks,
toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap,
shampoo, conditioner and other toiletries
in hopes to further help students in need
on a monthly basis.
