pilepsy Florida and First City Art Center teamed up to host the
fi rst annual Cheers and Chili for Charity on Thursday, November
15. November is Epilepsy Awareness Month and Epilepsy Florida
wanted to raise awareness by creating a fundraiser for their clients.

The Pensacola Police Department, Pensacola Fire Department, and several
other individual teams competed in a chili cook-off, which was judged by
attendees. Wine tastings were available and beer was provided by Gulf Coast
Brewery. Live music was provided by Three Bean Soup and several sponsors
and vendors were in attendance.

All funds raised during the event went to benefi t Epilepsy Florida clients to

fund medical service needs, group case management, and Camp Boggy Creek,
which is a medically supervised week of camp available to children suffering
from epilepsy.

Epilepsy Florida has led the fi ght against epilepsy for four decades.  Their

goals are to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life
experiences; as well as prevent, control, and cure epilepsy. Epilepsy Florida is
the principal agency for epilepsy programs and services sponsored by the State
of Florida, servicing the estimated 400,000 Floridians who suffer from the
condition. They are also a partner of the Epilepsy Alliance America.
