T

he Perdido community came together on Friday, November 30, to celebrate the
accomplishments of the Perdido Area Chamber of Commerce, its business members,
and acknowledge several well-deserving community advocates. Awards were given to
outstanding Perdido community leaders, including Kiwanis of Big Lagoon for Non-

Profi t of the year, Southel, Inc. for Small Business of the year, and FloraBama for Large Business
of the year. Other awards presented during the luncheon included the Island Spirit Award,
Advocate of the Year, Community Service Member of the Year, and Board Member of the Year.

The festivities also honored the outgoing 2018 board of directors and welcomed the 2019

incoming board of directors. In 2018, the Perdido Chamber hosted over eighteen networking
and business events, attended ribbon cuttings for over thirty new businesses, held eighty-four
committee meetings, as well as prepared and processed over 35,000 area visitor guides to help
generate and encourage interest in the area.

The Perdido Chamber strives to help small businesses grow and succeed. It is clear that the

future is bright for the Perdido community, which looks to these community leaders and advocates
to progress the initiatives of both business and community success.
