he Junior Achievement of
Northwest Florida recently
honored Cyndi Warren and Dr.
Ken Ford, this year’s Junior
Achievement Hall of Fame 2017 Laureates.
The event took place at the Pensacola Yacht
Club on November 14.
To be considered for the honor of Junior
Achievement Hall of Fame Laureate, an
individual must: Be recognized for his
or her significant business acumen and
achievements, display characteristics
of business excellence and integrity,
demonstrate inspiring business and
community leadership, exhibit exemplary
ethical and civic role model qualities in
business with a history of mentoring youth,
be a supporter of or contributor to Junior
Achievement, and possess a record of
professional and civic achievements that
are a direct result of their use of the free
enterprise system to improve the quality
of the lives of those in their company and
community.
Junior Achievement serves as the largest
international organization dedicated to the
education of young people in the areas of
finances, business, and enterprise. JA is
present in over 100 countries and 339,000
classrooms worldwide, and classes are
taught exclusively by volunteers.
During the 2015-2016 school year,
Junior Achievement programs were
present in over 274 classes in 42 schools in
NWFL, reaching over 5,300 students from
Escambia to Bay county. In the 57 years
since its formation, Junior Achievement of
Northwest Florida has supplied educational
services to more than 150,000 students
through the dedication of its volunteer
teachers and financial backers, as well as its
many Presidents and Board Members.
