What is your hometown, what brought you to the Pensacola area, and how long

have you been here?

Born and raised in Milton, Florida. My father is Byrd Maples, known as the “Flying Mayor of

Milton.” Brian Parker and I built a ranch on Willard Norris Road in Pace, which was named

after my Grandfather. My offi ce is located on Scenic Highway and I love leaving the country life

and traveling down Scenic Highway daily. My wonderful offi ce has a view of the Escambia Bay,

and is near East Hill. We love being so close to the variety of restaurants and businesses East Hill

and Historic Downtown Pensacola have to offer.

What is your profession and give a brief description of what you do.

I’ve been in business for 36 years. I’m a licensed Permanent Makeup Artist and Cosmetologist.

I’m the sole owner of Permanent Make-up Clinic on Scenic Highway. I specialize in permanent

make-up, areola tattooing, and scar revision after face-lifts, after plastic surgery. Currently I sit

on the board of the Pensacola State College and American Academy of Micropigmentation.

What led you to choose this profession?

In 1998 my sweet sister, Piper passed away. A client of mine went to Arizona to get permanent

makeup and it sparked my curiosity. I realized no one was doing it in the area. So, I made the

decision with a leap of faith, and decided to become the fi rst make-up artist in our area. From

there I began my training. I’m always in training and stay up on the latest techniques and

procedures.

What do you like best about Pensacola? What makes it so unique?

My favorite things about the Pensacola area are the Shopping and Dining (I love Apple Market),

and we also have a great community of plastic surgeons. Pensacola is the home of the Blue

Angles, Historic Ft. Pickens, and all the Fresh Seafood you could imagine.

Three words that best describe you.

Soft Hearted, Devoted, Loyal

I AM PENSACOLA because…

I am blessed to be able to enjoy my job, the city, and hope that I’m able to give back to our

community that has embraced my business for years. It truly is a special place to call “home”.
