T

he 29th annual Sertoma’s 4th of July Celebration event was held at the Historic Seville Square on Wednesday, July 4.  Several area
Sertoma Clubs coordinated and hosted a huge, patriotic celebration for Pensacola locals and visitors.  Free activities were available
throughout the day from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, including a children’s area with infl atables, a U.S. Army simulator, rock climbing
wall, pony rides, character meet and greet, face painting, and much more.  Attendees were encouraged to enter a hot dog eating contest

that started at noon.  A variety of arts and crafts vendors and food vendors were available with live entertainment provided on the Bayfront stage
in the evening by L.A. Strangers, and Not Quite FAB.  Most food vendors stayed open until 9:00 pm, to encourage guests to stay for the largest
fi reworks display on the Gulf Coast over Pensacola Bay.

The festivities fi nished with an amazing fi reworks show, perfectly synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country 98.7, sponsored by the law

offi ces of J.J.Talbot.  Sertoma’s 4th of July Celebration committee thanked the Escambia County Board of Commissioners for its grant and City of
Pensacola for important logistical support.  Skanska provided the barge in which the fi reworks were launched.
