O

n the warm, summer afternoon of June 20, the
Perdido Key Area Chamber hosted a business
social after hours. A great turnout of chamber
members and prospective members attended,

and this social hour reflected the fun-filled atmosphere of
business professionals in Perdido Key. The generous staff and
ownership of the Greyhound Track provided a large spread of
delicious toppings and shells for a DIY taco bar experience,
accompanied with drink specials to spruce up the community
gathering.

Attendees enjoyed gathering to socialize, network, and tour

the Greyhound Track facility. The door prizes were plentiful
from some of the generous members of the chamber. During
the door prize giveaway, special announcements of new
members were made along with the Member of the Quarter,
which was presented to Edward Jones-Financial Advisor:
Erin Wilmer. The Executive Director, Jo Ann Slaydon,
announced the win of the BBB Torch Award for Ethics to the
membership, praising all of the hard work the Chamber has
put in to receive this type of award. Slaydon then presented
the award and “passed the torch” to the incoming President/
CEO of the Perdido Key Chamber, Mrs. Dana Pagador. The
Pensacola Greyhound Track is one-of-a kind in the Perdido
Area; allowing this Business After Hours to be unlike any
other. Many members stayed after the event to watch some
races and take photos with the winning dog.
