G

oing to the Palafox Market every Saturday and Sunday from 9am-2pm,
rain or shine, is a treat for the senses. The smells, sounds, and sights are
sure to entice even the most fi nicky of shoppers. With no list or nothing
particular in mind to shop for, anyone can walk away with more than

they can carry. From fresh produce, live plants and baked goods to fi ne art, crafts
and antiques, there is something for everyone. Items originate directly from onsite
vendors who grow, make, or create the fruits, vegetables, herbs, and art for sale.

Goods arrive straight from the fi eld or kitchen to be sold under the shady trees of

Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza, including fresh produce, local meat, poultry, cheese,
fl owers and live plants, fi ne art, crafts, baked goods, natural products, soaps, candles,
home goods, herbs, antiques, coffee connoisseurs like Kaffe Brews, and collectibles.

Wi-Fi, electrical outlets, water, and an easy, central location create a comfortable

atmosphere for vendors and patrons. Vendors include dozens of local farmers, home
gardeners and area artists throughout Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Baldwin counties
to ensure a variety of colorful and enticing products. Located on N. Palafox St., in
Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza, between Wright St. and Chase St., Palafox Market
is centrally located to many shopping and dining establishments in Downtown
Pensacola.

Palafox Market is a collaborative effort of the Pensacola Downtown Improvement

Board and the City of Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency. Vendors and
the goods sold at the Palafox Market change weekly to accommodate a variety of
talents and community interests. Produce and herbs rotate out as the summer season
progresses to ensure only the freshest items are available. Check the Palafox Market
Facebook page for a weekly preview and be sure to arrive early if you see something
you really want. Fresh produce is in high demand and goes quickly.
