A
large crowd filled the Cultural Arts Center December 6 for SEACT’s latest play A
Christmas Story. This classic is a favorite of all ages. It is the humorous tale about a
kid named Ralphie and his relentless pursuit of a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot
Range Model air rifle. Actor Chandler King brought the “Ralphie” character to life on the
CAC’s stage. The dynamic between Ralphie’s mother, played by Kendell Shows, and his father,
portrayed by Charles Buntin, generated lots of laughter from the audience. Prior to the play
those in attendance enjoyed a wonderful dinner provided by Alexander’s Catering. The entire
evening would not have been possible without the countless volunteers and SunSouth Bank.
Director Chris Manasco did an excellent job of adapting the movie for the stage. The producers,
Kendall Sirkis and Liz Smyth, also contributed to the success of the show.
When attending a SEACT production you not only are going to have a great time but you also
help support and fulfill their mission. SEACT was established in 1973 and since its inception,
SEACT has strived to culturally enhance the lives of Wiregrass residents through theatre.
