T

he 6th annual Mother Daughter Tea hosted by Girls Inc. was held December 3 at the
Stokes Activity Barn at Landmark. The nonprofit had around 175 reservations for the
event that was a perfect time for girls to spend with their mothers or special person

in their life. According to Girls Inc., this event is designed to inspire, honor and enhance the
relationships between girls and the women (mothers, stepmothers, aunts, grandmothers  and
godmothers) in their lives.

The afternoon started with a tea-style lunch catered by Pans & Petals. After which the entire

group made an ornament craft. Then came the opportunity to spend time at stations set up
around the room. There was so much for the girls to do. They could decorate cookies with elves,
make a necklace, have their picture taken and get snacks from a candy table. There was even a
letter-to-Santa station for Christmas wishes. Girls could mail their letter there or give it to him in
person when he came, along with Mrs. Claus, to visit all those attending.

The money raised from the Mother Daughter Tea will benefit the Girls Inc.’s after-school

program that provides over 60 girls in grades K-8th educational programs and activities.
