O

ne of the most beloved holiday traditions came back to the Dothan Civic Center stage
as the Southeast Alabama Dance Company performed The Nutcracker for audiences
November 30-December 3.

Besides regular performances there was a special dinner show held December 1. Event-goers

enjoyed a buffet-style dinner with seating in front of the stage and an opportunity for pictures with
the performers.

The classic ballet tells a magical story through characters such as children, toy soldiers,

mischievous mice, waltzing snowflakes, a glowing Christmas tree and a place called the Land of
Sweets.

The Nutcracker is one of three performances that SEADAC puts on throughout the year which

includes a spring production and a summer production.

SEADAC consists of approximately 30 dancers. Its mission is “to provide production

opportunities and formal training to serious dance students, primarily in classical ballet.”  It
also strives to educate and enrich the community by presenting performances to schools and
community organizations.
