A
lthough the temperatures were a
little on the warm side, it didn’t
stop snow from coming to Dothan
for the annual Downtown Christmas
Festival. Hundreds came out for this
year’s event presented by Metro PCS held
December 2 on Troy, Foster & St. Andrews
streets. There were more than 40 vendors
and local businesses open for shoppers.
Kids of every age could find something
to do at the festival. The snow zone offered
a chance to sled down a hill and was one of
the most popular places to visit. There was
also a zip line, bounce houses, rides/games,
crafts and face painting.
As always, Santa was there to see
everyone, but this year the Grinch also
made an appearance. Carolers were set up
at Porter Street Park putting everyone in
the holiday spirit. And, since the festival
was four hours long, there were plenty of
places to grab a bite to eat.
The Dothan Downtown Christmas
Festival is coordinated by the Dothan
Downtown Redevelopment Authority and
wouldn’t be possible without help from lots
of volunteers
