eth Bailey

Keener moved to

Destin in 2014

after being in Georgia.

However, she is from

Pensacola.

Her love of sewing

started at the age of 12

when her favorite Aunt

Kathy taught her how to

sew. After many lengthy

careers and selling her

last business in Georgia

in May of 2014 she

was searching for a

new path in life and the

embroidery business was

the natural extension

of her love of sewing.

She was mentored by

her long-time friend,

LeAnn O’Conner in the

business and with the

help of the Destin One

referral group she started

her business in Destin.

Her husband, Basiel and

her daughter, Keira are big supporters of her endeavors and working out

of the home in her business is an extra blessing.

J

annah Jeffcoat, owner of Lena Ellen Boutique, began her career as an

Aesthetician in her family owned salon and spa in Andalusia, Alabama.

While building her Aesthetic business, she saw a need for a place to shop in

her small town. A place where a girl could get an outfi t to feel good about herself

without breaking the bank. She chose to specialize in hand-selected clothing and

jewelry that looked high-end, yet maintained affordable prices. The store, named

after Jannah’s late grandmother, Lena Ellen Paul, began as just a small space in

her already existing salon. The store has since increased in square footage to over

4,600 sq. ft., and recently opened a new location in Destin. Jannah still scours

markets for small quantities of each unique item found in her stores, despite the

growth in business. She believes boutique shopping

is about fi nding something unique, while getting

personalized service while you shop.

Lena Ellen Boutique is open Monday-Friday

10:00-6:00 and Saturday 10:00-4:00.

of Sea & Sand

Jewelry in the Destin

Commons. Born in

Winter Park, FL, she

now resides in the

Destin area with her

husband William, and

dog Louie, who is the

real boss of the home.

Their two children,

Clint and Katie, attend

Mississippi State

University. Emily has

spent most of her career

helping Alzheimer’s

patients as a nurse, and

is fi nishing another

degree this year at The

University of Southern

Mississippi.

Having always had

an interest in arts and

crafts, she has fond

memories of her family

making them on her

grandmother’s huge dining table while sipping lemonade and sweet

tea. She starting making jewelry at 18 years old and continues to make

jewelry and paint. She enjoys the relaxing feel that the Emerald Coast

lends to her creativity. Having dreamed of opening a boutique for

many years, her dreams came to pass this year. Opening a business is

tough, but Emily says it’s worth it every time a customer lights up with

joy when they fi nd that special piece of jewelry. She thanks God for

allowing her to make this happen.

Sea & Sand Jewelry offers handmade, one of a kind jewelry, featuring

several local artists. Just like everyone has a story, every piece of

jewelry does too. They offer something to make every woman feel

beautiful from $20-$2000.
