moked foods and loads of laughter fi lled the air on the morning of September 29 for the 
5th Annual Eggs on the Beach, Eggfest Cooking Competition, held at Seascape Resort in 
Miramar Beach.  Over 30 restaurants and organizations such as Clemenza’s, the Rotary 
Club, Saltwater Restaurants, and many others were set up with the hopes to win fi rst 

place in the cooking competition.  Attendees were given 5 tickets to place in the jar of the food 
they enjoyed the most. Some picked their top 5 while others gave all fi ve votes to their top pick.  
Some selections were bison with smoked lobster & shrimp as well as a slightly spicy but beyond 
delicious chili.  All food items that were available were prepared and cooked on their own, well 
known by many, “Egg” smoker/grill. 

Along with delicious foods, many tables provided their own cocktail options as.  Live music, 

cooking demonstrations, a charity raffl e, a kid’s zone, and even tv’s set up with football playing 
provided some extra fun for all.  Proceeds of the event benefi ted the Fisher House of the Emerald 
Coast as well as Food for Thought.  Congratulations to the winners of the day, which consisted 
of Sacred Que, Saltwater Restaurants, and Rotary Club of Destin.
