he Children’s Volunteer Health Network staff and board
recently unveiled the newly named event, “The Big
Give,” to bring a new spin and focus to their annual, well-
attended fundraiser. The 2018 Caftan & Cocktail themed

event was held on September 28, raising over $62,000 to put towards
C VHN’s mission. The 14th annual event brought out many generous
hearts once more to do it all over again for 2018.

The CVHN Big Give was a Caribbean-themed evening with live

music, a delicious buffet, live auction, and silent auction. This year’s
live auction items, included a seven-night stay in a villa on the island
of Anguilla, a private group wine dinner with a local French Wine
Scholar, and a stay in a Key West home. The silent auction was also
packed full with tickets to local events, staycations, and exclusive
items from local businesses.

CVHN relies heavily on community participation for their

signature fundraisers and Kelly Thompson, CVHN Development
Director, made sure to let her guests know that by expressing her
appreciation to the community for coming out, and to the Dugas
Family Foundation whose big giving will be the reason CVHN has
a brand new bus, which will be a mobile state of the art dental clinic.
CVHN provides free access to medical, dental, vision, and other
health related services for children in need in Northwest Florida.
CVHN is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization, established in 2005
in response to Walton and Okaloosa County’s large population of
low-income families unable to access high-quality health services
due to the unavailability (or inadequacy) of insurance. The mission of
CVHN is to improve the health and well-being of children in need.
