CVHN seeks to improve the health and well
being of children in need by providing them
with access to FREE medical and dental care
in the community. CVHN has been operating
a Mobile Dental Clinic since 2008 that
travels to area schools providing preventative
dental care. In 2012, the freestanding Dental
Clinic in Santa Rosa Beach opened providing
preventative and restorative dental care.

Children’s Volunteer Health
Network Announces New
Dentist, Dr. Stephanie Curley,
DMD
Children’s Volunteer Health Network, or
CVHN, is thrilled to announce the addition
of Dr. Stephanie Curley to its Dental Clinic
Program. Dr. Curley joined CVHN after
Hurricane Michael damaged the Lynn Haven
dental offi ce she was working in at the time.
Dr. Curley moved to the area in 2015 with
her husband just months after graduating
from the University of Louisville School of
Dentistry. The couple recently welcomed
twins into the world. When the opportunity
to work for CVHN emerged, Dr. Curley was
excited to join a nonprofi t team that focused
on serving children.
“The kids I get to meet and work with at
CVHN are always fun and entertaining,”
said Dr. Curley. “I love all the different
personalities I get to meet. Oral hygiene is
very important to all ages, especially children.
I am happy to be a part of a team that gets to
improve their dental health and educate them
on the importance of proper dental hygiene.”

Emerald Coast Science Center
Invites Community to Celebrate
30 Year Anniversary
The new year marks a milestone for local
non-profi t organization, the Emerald Coast
Science Center, ECSC. To commemorate this
monumental occasion the ECSC will host a
fundraiser to celebrate inspiring and growing
a scientifi cally engaged community for the last
thirty years.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating 30 years
on the Emerald Coast,” said Diane Fraser,
Executive Director of the ECSC. “We are
hoping this event brings together those that
supported our mission in the beginning as well
as those that are just learning about us. This
celebration gives us an opportunity to showcase
what we have to offer the community.”
Local artists have been commissioned to
create artwork that expresses what “Science is”
to them. Prints of the Artwork will adorn the
ECSC’s building and property for the duration
of their 30th year on the Emerald Coast,
giving the community an opportunity to enjoy
them outside of the event. At the Anniversary
Celebration, the artwork will be available for
purchase in a silent auction.
Founded in 1989 by the Junior League of the
Emerald Coast the center was created to provide
STEM education to children in Okaloosa
County. The center changed its name in 2001
and has been growing steadily since that time.
The ECSC now occupies a 8,000 square foot
building with over 45 exhibits and interactive
activities, it serves Walton, Okaloosa and Santa
Rosa counties, and it sees over 12,000 visitors
each year.
