Sometimes in Destin you get a feeling of a much larger cosmopolitan
suburb. Maybe it is the traffic, maybe it is the variety of fine dining
options, or maybe it is the extensive shopping and culture. But then,
you keep running into so many people you know and are quickly
reminded of what a small place it really is. Destin is aplomb with
fishing options, outdoors activities, and dive bars, however, it is
equivocally positioned with high end, luxurious shopping, boating,
and real estate offerings for the luxury enthusiast. For this reason, we
offer you our Luxury and Financial Issue that provides some profiles
of those who are experienced leaders in all things luxury and finance.
Destin is never short on events and activities. Several years ago,
when we launched an events-centric magazine, folks asked what we
would cover on the off months. Those folks just did not know what a
large, local, philanthropically driven community this was. There are
events for fun and for fundraising every week of the year. The Destin
community always impresses me with their giving hearts and their
outpouring efforts to make this little slice of paradise better, while also
enhancing the lives of many on this great big world we live in.
This issue recaps the winners of Best in Destin as we approach a
celebration of each of the winners and present them with a proper
acknowledgement at the Black Tie Ball. We include event coverage
from one of the area’s most celebrated fundraisers such as La
Lumiere– Party of the Gods. Hannah Martin is doing remarkable
things with the proceeds from this event. We also took part in
celebrating Sinfonia through Cresecendo! at Lunch en Blanc. Palate & Palette, Gumbo Festival, Tasting of
Champions, and many others are also spotlighted but we cannot do justice for these events or the great causes they
support. Other fantastic events are recapped in this issue so I hope you see your friends, family members, and
yourself celebrating, making memories while providing support for many great causes in the following pages. Also
in this issue our standard features are not so standard – especially Destin Quarters, which showcases a remarkably
luxurious property in Destin.
Next month is our annual Real Estate and Home special feature. You will not want to miss it, but… I cannot
imagine why you would want to miss a single issue of
VIP Destin Magazine. This is your magazine, highlighting
your friends, neighbors, and your favorite causes, businesses, and festivities.
