A

dopt, don’t shop! Save Underdogs

is among the many incredible

organizations throughout the

Emerald Coast who devote

their lives to saving animals. This is a selfless,

all volunteer group whose goal is to rescue,

rehabilitate and rehome as many dogs as

possible. Founder, Terri Bondi described, “We

take the throwaways. Dogs who are ‘out of

time’ at a shelter, sick, injured, in need of social

retraining, etc. - the unwanted. We get them

the medical care they need, put them in a loving

foster home environment for rehabilitation,

and when they are ready we screen potential

adopters for the most suitable match based on

our knowledge of the pet.” Save Underdogs

operates solely from fundraising and personal

funds and with roughly ten adoptions a month,

these deserving animals can use all the support

they can get.

With well over 5,000 adoptions to date, Save

Underdogs is always looking for volunteers to

open their loving homes and hearts to foster

a dog while they search for a perfect forever

family. Community members can also assist

in transportation from shelter to rescue or from

the vet to foster homes. All medical expenses

are paid by the organization, without any grant

money or funding, so monetary donations of

any size can help to save a life. There are other

ways to give back as well. Save Underdogs

greatly benefits from donations like grain free

food, pee pads, cleaning supplies, etc. “We

definitely could not rescue on the scale that we

do without this incredible, selfless team of big

hearted animal lovers!” said Terri, “Some truly

amazing friendships have been found through

a shared love of saving innocent lives. There

is a person somewhere for every dog...I truly

believe that.”
