earing pajamas in public is sometimes frowned upon; but it was cool to be seen
wearing your PJ’s at Lulu’s in Destin at the Spamma Pajamma Party.  The
yearly event, hosted by Trees on the Coast and LuLu’s, was held on May 5.
The community came out wearing different styles of pajamas to support Trees

on the Coast to raise funds in order to grow more trees along the Emerald Coast.  Trees on the
Coast is dedicated to improving Okaloosa and Walton County’s tree canopy and enhancing the
beauty of the coastline through planting, conservation and education.

Since their inception in 2015, Trees on the Coast has donated and planted almost 300 trees

for the local community. Approximately $190,000 has been raised to buy and plant these trees
in public locations like streetscapes, parks, and schools.  They have also provided educational
programs and tree plantings for children.

Guests who attended the event had the opportunity to partake in contests ranging from best

pajama to spam sculpting.  This year, Best Adult Costume was won by Vladimir Babich, and the
Kiddies trophy went to Ellen Jourdan. The winner of the toilet tissue race was Dillon Anderson.
The family fun time was enjoyed by all who attended, but most importantly it was for a good
cause.
