Make A Splash with

W

hen you live along the Emerald Coast you spend half of the year in a bathing

suit. As swimwear quickly fi lls your wardrobe, you need to make sure you

stay on trend. Instead of wasting time shopping online, pop into a local store

like Dip Swimwear in Miramar Beach for a one-stop shop that meets all of

your sun worshipping needs. They cater towards anyone searching for a high quality suit

that fi ts the way swimwear is supposed to. Owner of Dip Swimwear, Tatiana Wilmot, is a

swimsuit guru here to guide us on a treasure map of upcoming trends. You’ll be seeing a lot

of reversible styles this summer, giving you tons of options to mix and match. What’s better

than two for the price of one? Playing with prints is a great way to identify a personal style

this season. “I personally have always been more of a print girl and it is defi nitely refl ected in

the store. We are seeing lots of big graphic fl orals and also some fun tie-dye prints. I love the

big graphic prints because they offer so many options for mixing with solids to create your

own look,” said Tatiana.

There are lots of playful new silhouettes out this summer including a wide variety of one-

piece suits for those who want to leave a little more to the imagination. Tatiana let us in on a

secret; classics are back big time! The classic triangle top and basic bikini style bottoms are

the best selling silhouettes at Dip Swimwear. Bathing suit shopping can be as terrifying as

swimming in a hurricane for some women. It doesn’t have to be if you are shopping in the

right environment with knowledgeable people to guide you through the storms. Tatiana

said, “I tell all my clients that if they don’t feel comfortable in the suit then don’t buy it,

because confi dence in a swimsuit comes from feeling comfortable in it.”

One of the most fun parts of swimwear is accessorizing and Dip Swimwear carries it

all. A beautiful swimsuit deserves to be complemented by an equally beautiful cover-

up. “I’m still seeing a lot of kimonos,” said Tatiana, “They are by far the easiest thing to

throw over your suit to head out to the pool or the beach. I’m also seeing a lot of overalls in

different fabrications not just denim. We have a few styles in the store now that are absolute

perfection.” You’ll need a way to carry all of your essentials, and a large beach bag is always

popular for it’s versatility. Jute and straw woven totes are fun because they can be used

for the beach and brought straight to the bar. For footwear, the classic thong fl ip fl op will

always be in style, but this year the slide has made a comeback from the 90s. We are seeing

slides in clear plastic, denim and with big tied bows too. Wide brim hats for the beach are

both practical and adorable. Tatiana especially loves the kind with embroidered phrases on

them. “Out of Offi ce” and “Resting Beach Face” are some fun ones that will get you feeling

vacation ready in no time.

If you’ve got a man in your life or little ones that need to get suited up as well, look no

further than Dip Swimwear. They carry a variety of expertly made men’s suits and adorable

children’s suits. The children’s suits match back to either a ladies suit or men’s swim trunks.

Tatiana said, “This is a trend that we have noticed becoming more popular in the last couple

of years and a lot of our lines are catching on and capitalizing by making some really cute

prints for the whole family.”
