lag Day: A Military Member Recognition Event was held Thursday, June 14, at 
Vue30A in Santa Rosa Beach. This patriotic celebration kicked off with a happy hour 
and dinner, followed by an auction with 100% of the proceeds going to the national 
Dogs on Deployment organization. Auctioneering the event was veteran, speaker and 

comedian, Jody Fuller. Mike Bickett led the words of welcome and Heather Laveaux led both 
the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Local Homes for Heroes recipient, USAF 
Captain Nathan Nelson, shared his story with the crowd. Janet Watson, joined by her four-
legged pals Maximillion and Buddy, discussed the Dogs on Deployment organization’s support
