What is your hometown, what brought
you to the Emerald Coast and how
long have you been here?
As an Air Force Brat, I have lived all over the
world and loved it. I am so thankful for the
many places I’ve been able to experience and
the friends I’ve met along the way. Of all my
travels, Destin is the place that grabbed my
heart. I moved here on my own 12 years ago
now. I didn’t know a soul, have a job or even
a place to stay. I came here with absolutely
nothing. In Destin, I found my Forever
Home.
What is your profession and what led
you to choose this profession?
My husband, Brian, and I own Island
Sands Beach Weddings-a full service Event
Company, and Royal Palm Grille-a Beach
Front Restaurant & Bar/Venue/Catering
Company. It all started in 2008 when Brian
convinced me I was meant to be an event
planner and believe me it took a lot of
convincing. I gave in and at my very fi rst
wedding, I had my “Ah Ha” moment. He
was right, this is what I was born to do.
What do you like best about Destin
and what makes it unique?
Of all the places I’ve been throughout the
world, I believe Destin is by far the most
beautiful. There is something here that I fi nd
magical. Indescribable.
Give us three words that best describe
you.
Hardworking. Determined. Thankful.
Favorite things you like about Destin.
The beach of course. Even though I work
on the beach every day, I still appreciate its
beauty. Looking out to the horizon helps me
keep my daily life in perspective.
I AM DESTIN because…
My story is really the story of the Destin
Dream. I moved here on my own with
nothing much more than the clothes on my
back and a desire to live on the beach. I met
my husband here and together we built two
amazing companies. Not only do I get to
work on the beach every day, but I get to do
it with my best friend and a pretty amazing
crew to top it off.
