n Saturday, December 8, the 
48 degree weather was not 
chilly enough to stop the 
538 people who came out to 

participate in the Ho Ho Hustle 5K/10K 
run through the back course of beautiful 
Fort Walton Beach and surrounding area. 
The rain or shine event was put together to 
raise funds for Toys for Tots. The fun but 
very competitive event brought out various 
classes of athletes who were competing 
in different categories from walkers to 
runners and masters to grandmasters. 

The first 2 finishers in the overall men’s 

race was a photo finish with 2/10th of a 
second between winner Steven Cornelius 
and Nathan Isaacs. The female overall 
winner was Katja Blunden. Superman 
Million at 63 years old came in 1st in the 
5K Male Grand Masters run with a 7:22/
mile while Edie Ezell went away with the 
Female Grand Masters coming in first 
with a run of 7:46/mile. An after party 
took place at KC’s where the runners had 
a blast and enjoyed fantastic food, beer, 
soft drinks, and live music. All runners 
who placed in the race were awarded a 
collector’s edition Christmas ornament.
