White Christmas came to the Emerald Coast this year… at least on Friday and 
Saturday nights in December.  Locals and visitors alike enjoyed playing in the fresh 
powder that looked and felt like snow while free, horse-drawn carriage rides around 
the Town Center were offered. The horse and carriage provided by Arnett’s Gulfside 

Stable in Santa Rosa Beach allowed guests to feel and see the festive season around Grand 
Boulevard and to enjoy the bustle of shoppers and diners, and the beautifully lit Festival of Trees 
display in Grand Park. Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s Dickensian Carolers also sang popular 
holiday carols to add to the festivities.

The Town Center came alive with thousands of beautiful white lights, bringing a festive and 

inviting spirit to the Boulevard, while kids and adults enjoyed playing in the snow that was 
generated by the snow making machines around the park. “Yes, we can experience what others 
experience up north thanks to technology,” said a mom as she was pulled under the snow machine 
by her daughter.
