t the 2018 auction, DCWAF broke 
from tradition and offered to do a live 
auction lot to benefi t the victims of the 
2017 California wildfi res in Napa and 

Sonoma Counties. Many of the Foundation’s wine 
industry partners who have all been so supportive of 
the foundation’s mission, were deeply affected. The 
auction raised $48,000 in donations for the Napa and 
Sonoma Vintners Associations. The 24 couples who 
won the lot, including a large selection of rare wines 
in various formats, chose to throw a party to enjoy the 
wine together. They all gathered on January 13, for a 
Sunday evening throw-down at John and Margaret 
Sheehan’s lovely home in Miramar Beach.
