he Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce held their January Business
After Hours at the Emerald Coast Science Center on Memorial Parkway. The event,
sponsored by The Emerald Coast Science Center, on January 18, had most of the
agencies from the non-profi t sector available. The agencies all set up booths with

informational pamphlets and individuals on hand to answer questions. The non-profi t agencies
from Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa county that were represented at the event were: Children
in Crisis, Fresh Start, Early Learning Coalition, Northwest Florida Military Association, Special
Olympics Florida, SOCKS (save our cats and kittens), Boys and Girls Club of the Emerald
Coast Healthy Start, The Arc, and United Way.

As always, there were freebies and door prices awarded to lucky winners. Diane Fraser from

the Emerald Coast Science Center thanked the Chamber for sponsoring and giving non-profi t
organizations their own committee within the Chamber and also for allowing each agency to
display a booth at the Business After Hours.

The Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce brings together business, non-

profi t, and cultural leaders of the area with goals of strengthening relationships. They help local
businesses and enhance the quality of life in their community by providing services that allow
businesses help themselves.
