I AM DESTIN - Reggie Reed

What is your hometown, what brought

you to the EMERALD COAST and how

long have you been here?

I am originally from Port Clinton, Ohio, but

moved to the Home of the Rock and Roll Hall of

Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, at a very young age.

Performing with the Temptations we were

offered an opportunity to perform here. When

my fi ancée and I came across the bridge into

Destin the emerald green water took our breath

away. That was in the spring of 2015 and we’ve

never looked back.

What is your profession and give a brief

description of what you do.

I perform with the Temptations Revue all over

the world. I have recently started Reed Music,

LLC and am pursuing a musical career here

locally.

What lead you to choose this profession?

Having come from a musical family I guess you

can say my profession is a trickledown effect. My

mother, Lula Reed, was a performer in the fi fties

with several hits. I started singing in church,

school musicals and talent shows. I received a

scholarship, but went into acting instead. Having

tried my hand at acting in LA, I would get small

parts but longed to come back to my fi rst love,

music.

What do you like best about Destin? What

makes it unique?

I’ve always loved the water and I love how

the people here have been so welcoming. The

weather is wonderful. My fi ancée and I love the

wide variety of events and restaurant choices.

We were honored to be asked to be this year’s

honorary co-chairs for the American Cancer

Society of NW Florida.

Three words that best describe you.

Blessed, grateful and dedicated.

Finish this statement, I AM DESTIN

because…

of the people I have come to know here.
