T

he Sugar Sands Charity Golf

Classic took place over the

Columbus Day weekend, kicking

off at Tommy Bahamas’ Café in

Grand Boulevard. The ‘Registration’ Party

was highlighted with tasty treats and a

preview of the silent auction items.

The golf tournament was held at the

Kelly Plantation Golf Course. Ashton

Crowe, Head Golf Pro and General

Manager is always a gracious and well

organized host for the tournament. The

awards dinner was hosted by Tuscany

Italian Bistro. Guglielmo Ianni, Owner and

Chef, offered up delicious tastings for the

attendees.

President and CEO, Ken Hair said

“The 9th Annual Sugar Sands Charity

Golf Classic was the best one yet! The

weather was perfect, the golfers had

a great time and most importantly

we raised about $40,000 to help feed,

clothe and care for our children living

at the CIC Neighborhood. A big thanks

goes to Tuscany Italian Bistro in Destin

and Tommy Bahama Tropical Cafe in

Grand Boulevard for their wonderful

support again this year. We always have

the tournament on Columbus Day, so

I encourage our players and wonderful

supporters to mark their calendars for

October 9, 2017!”
