undreds of families came
out to enjoy a day full of
Halloween festivities and a
costume contest at LuLu’s

Destin 2nd Annual BooLu’s.  Inside the
restaurant and outside and on the sandy
beach, kids stayed plenty busy with free
Halloween arts & crafts projects, face
painting, caricatures, pumpkin painting,
Jellyfish Jumper rides and inflatable
slides.

This year, Trunk or Treat was added

with trunk-or-treating on the LuLu’s
grounds during BooLu’s. Area businesses
and non-profits handed out candy to over
500 eager kids from their Halloween-
themed decorated trunks. In a people’s
choice vote, Emerald Coast Autism
Center won for best decorated Trunk-or-
Treat. Gabrielle Bandon won the contest
for guessing how much candy corn was
in a big jar; she came the closest with a
guess of 2,099, and the actual number was
2,112.

Almost 200 kids, from two months

to 12 years old, lined up in their
Halloween attire for the costume contest.
Mike Butler, LuLu’s general manager
interviewed each of the participants on
stage while people watched and got a
good look at their creative costumes and
charismatic personalities.

“BooLu’s is becoming a great family

annual tradition for Halloween,”
commented Butler. “In our second year,
we had twice as many kids sign up for our
Faboolous Costume Contest. For sure, a
good time was had by all!”

LuLu’s is located in Destin at the foot

of the Mid-Bay Bridge next to Legendary
Marina.
