r. Chavers is a Board-Certified
Family Medicine physician and
certified in Functional Medicine
through the Institute for Functional
Medicine. He graduated from the
University of Alabama School of Medicine
in Birmingham and completed residency at
the Tuscaloosa Family Practice Residency
Program. With over 12 years of experience
including Functional Medicine, Family
Medicine, Hospice, medical mission
work and long-term care, Dr. Chavers
has invaluable insight into managing and
preventing the devastating effects of chronic
disease.
Dr. Chavers saw quickly that the current
medical model—oriented toward acute care
and prescribed treatments that manage
immediate problems or symptoms—was
not conducive to helping patients make
lifelong changes to improve their health and
quality of life. Further, time constraints and
pressure to see a higher quantity of patients
along with burdensome requirements from
insurance companies left him unable to
form meaningful relationships or provide
quality care. He felt he was unable to truly
make anyone well—he was simply writing
more and more prescriptions. After finally
discovering the emerging field of Functional
Medicine he knew it was a perfect fit. It
provided in-depth, scientifically backed
education behind what Dr. Chavers already
knew to be necessary and effective for the
management of chronic disease.

r. Richard Chern has been seeing
patients for over 25 years. He is
Board Certified in Family Practice
and practices both traditional and integrative
medicine. After completing his residency he
joined the United States Air Force as a Flight
Surgeon and has deployed numerous times.
He later became a member of the National
Guard and finally a member of the United
States Air Force Reserve and continues to
serve at Eglin AFB. He has experience in
public health, physiology, travel medicine,
fatigue management, and has provided
volunteer medical services over the past 20
years.
Dr. Chern’s expertise is in bio-identical
hormone replacement and he is a certified
hormone provider. Since opening The
Hormone Restoration Center in Miramar
Beach, two additional locations have opened.
Dr. Chern is well known for taking the time to
listen to his patients as well as going the extra
mile to make sure each patient feels cared for
and part of the family. His nurse practitioner,
Christine Briggs, ARNP, is also trained and
certified to provide bio-identical hormones
and sees patients at the Pensacola office.

r. Li-Ping Chew is grateful
and excited to join the Stubbs
Orthodontics team! Her personal
experience at her childhood orthodontist
made a lasting impression, and since then,
she has wanted to provide beautiful smiles to
others for a lifetime.
Dr. Chew graduated from the Mayo Clinic,
where she was accepted as the only dentist in
the nation for their three-year program. She
recently achieved her board certification as an
orthodontist through the American Board of
Orthodontics. Her education has allowed her
to treat a multitude of orthodontic problems.
As a military spouse, Dr. Chew has
travelled all around the world. No matter the
location, she engages with and enjoys serving
in the community in which she lives. She is
also passionate about international affairs and
has recently travelled to Kenya and Rwanda
to help train local dentists in orthodontics.
Dr. Chew is married to her best friend from
dental school, Matt Miller, who serves as a
dentist at Hurlburt Air Force Base. They have
one girl, Lucy, and enjoy life together. During
her free time, Dr. Chew enjoys CrossFit and
yoga, and teaches in the local community.
