n October 18, The Henderson Beach Resort held the 11th Annual Fisher House
Helping Heroes Gala with this year’s theme, Super Heroes Unite. With over 300 in
attendance for this sold out black tie event, many came dressed in costumes as well,
with special superhero appearances by the Causeplay Gulf Coast.

This year along with the silent and live auction with items ranging from hobbies, spa, local

businesses, mystery boxes, and collectors items, was an edible art competition. The competition
featured area foodies and creatives who baked a cake with the theme in mind, the top vote would
go to the live auction. Each entry had their own interpretation of super heroes, many choosing
the marvel characters, and some choosing heroes of military, police, and fi re department.

The Fisher House of Emerald Coast is a home away from home for the numerous military

installations in the panhandle of Florida. They service the military and veteran’s families in time
of need, with a mission statement of keeping families together in times of medical need, and
providing a support system. Each year, the Helping Heroes Gala brings in all branches of the
military coming together for a lovely evening of auction items, guest speakers, dinner, dessert,
and community.
