At its heart, ecotourism

is intended to provide an

educational experience at

the same time as it works to

provide much needed funding

for the conservation of the

environment, to benefit local

economies, and to promote

cultural respect.

is another opportunity for fi shing, walking, wildlife viewing,

picnicking, and swimming nestled right in the midst of it all—

giving you the best of both worlds just minutes from the bustle of

town.

Just over the bridge on Okaloosa Island, fi sherman can catch

their fi ll by casting their lines off Okaloosa Island Fishing

Pier, while John C. Beasley Park is ideal for swimming,

paddle-boarding, and fi shing in the Gulf or more sedate activities

like bird watching or walking along the shore.

No matter the age or the interest of the traveller, the Emerald

Coast is a natural treasure full of rare experiences to enjoy in ecotourism. So

gear up and get out—and leave your expectations behind.
