Growing from a small fishing town into

the city that it is today, Destin is all about

hospitality to the people who choose to

vacation with us here on the Emerald Coast.

As you read

VIP this month, realizing

others travel to relax and unwind here, ask

yourself a few questions. When was the last

time you booked a day at Serenity by the sea

Spa just to relax? How long has it been since

you went boating on a Saturday feeling the

wind on your face, or dabbling your toes at

Crab Island? You are within minutes of a

relaxing spa or an adventurous zip line ride

across HarborWalk Village- why not enjoy

that which others travel to experience!

Sometimes we become accustomed to our

surroundings and forget to appreciate the

beauty of our water, beaches, resorts and attractions. I challenge myself and

you to stop for a few minutes in our busy routine and enjoy all Destin has to

offer.

Let us go on a little tour of things we can experience minutes from our

homes within this issue. Spa 98 in Miramar Beach teaches us to pamper

ourselves and encourages us to find our own skincare regiment. In

May We

Suggest this issue, find Head to Toe Bliss at the Spa at Emerald Grande.

And to complete the package, our

Style feature is filled with resort wear and

beachside getaway looks.

Food and drinks always goes hand in hand with thoughts of resort style

living. As you read

Coastal Cuisine on page 42, your taste buds will come

alive thinking of the breakfast, lunch and dinners that await you on 30A.

What could be better than strolling through small shops stopping to sip wine

or inhaling the smell of chocolate fondues at LaCrema Tapas & Chocolate.

We have our own Cuvee Kitchen and Wine Bar on Emerald Coast Parkway

where the food is amazing and the wine list extensive. If you’re in the mood

for seafood, the options are endless here with catch fresh from the Gulf. As

you roll into

Swizzle on page 72 you will find Scenic Hills Country Club

just a short drive away, home to the perfect friendly bar after a game of golf.

On page 80

Adventure Out introduces you to Ecotourism, an educational

experience for all ages.

I Am Destin rounds out our Resort

and Spa issue with some words from

John Hall who tells of moving from the

metro city of Cleveland to find Destin

warm and appealing, and has made

Destin his home for over 20 years.

We should stop and smell the roses,

so to speak, of our very own resorts and

spas within reach of our daily activities.

I hope to see you out soon enjoying

Destin!
