L

aissez le bon temps rouer, let the good times roll! The Village Of Baytowne
Wharf held its 17th annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash on March 5.
Throughout the streets were decorations, entertainers and performers, and face
painters waiting to be in the big parade. Over 40 unique floats that include

golf carts and pick-up trucks, and most with their favorite pet dressed up to celebrate too;
beads, moon pies, and other trinkets were thrown out to the crowd. The parade is free to
attend, but event-goers have the opportunity to donate to the Alaqua Animal Refuge.

The  Alaqua Animal Refuge is a no-kill shelter that rescues, rehabilitates and adopts

a wide variety of animals in need, believing that every neglected and homeless animal
deserve a second chance.

The post-parade celebration brings more performers and parties and various village

merchants, but not before the winners of parade categories are announced, including
awards for “best dressed,” “most spirited,” and much more.
