M
arisol and Tony Gullo own and operate Not
Too Shabby Boutique in Miramar Beach.
There, they specialize in building custom
furniture, and it is where Marisol’s passion for
art and design took off.
Marisol and Tony have been building and finishing
furniture for over 12 years. When asked about how they
came up with their style of the furniture, Tony and Marisol
said, “Well, we were very heavily influenced by the French
Provincial theme. We like to make our pieces look as though
they came from a chateau in France in the eighteenth century.
However, living here on the coast, we have infused the
coastal colors and have come up with what we like to call
coastal chic.”
When asked about the woods and material they use Marisol
stated, “We use no particle or pressed board here, these
pieces are constructed from solid wood, which unfortunately
is NOT what new furniture is made of nowadays.”
“When we build from the ground up we like to use
reclaimed woods and old architecturals,” Tony said. “Look
at this 10 foot dining table here, this is build from about a
200-year-old door from Istanbul, Turkey,” noted Marisol.
If you haven’t been to Not too Shabby by Marisol Gullo,
do yourself a favor and stop in. This store has become a
destination spot for visitors when they come to town.
“This is the type of store that you come to regularly just to
see what’s new, and there is ALWAYS something new,” said
Tony. Marisol further noted that since their workshop is on
the property, they put out about 5-10 new pieces a week, so
there is always something new on the floor.
Although Not too Shabby by Marisol Gullo is their main
brand of furniture, Not too Shabby carries other amazing
brands such as Bella Notte Linens, Fourseasons Slipcover
sofas and chairs, Aidan Gray Lighting, Bliss, Regina
Andrews, and many, many more.
