istoric Pensacola’s Museum of Commerce hosted the
Pensacola Women of Distinction Awards Gala on
Friday, October 5. The Women of Distinction Awards
honor women in the local area for their true, hard

work, effort, and involvement in their community - women who
have been recognized as leaders and role models. Since its start,
over 150 women throughout the Florida Panhandle have been
recognized as Women of Distinction who exhibit specific qualities
that make them perfect nominees.

The awards ceremony was initially inspired by Girl Scouts.

Locally the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle help host this
event each year. All the proceeds from the event go towards

helping girls all over the country become strong, brave, and unique
in their own individuality for a bigger purpose of making the world
a better place.

Historic Pensacola’s Museum of Commerce was the a perfect

and uniquely elegant place to host the Pensacola’s Women of
Distinction Awards Gala. The room was lit with warm lights
that zigzagged across the ceiling beams for the most comfortable
evening gathering. A social hour, dinner, and a silent and live
auction was integrated throughout the awards ceremony during
the night. All the women nominees and their guests enjoyed the
night with smiles on their faces, knowing they had impacted their
community and girls everywhere.
