T

he Children’s Home Society of Pensacola hosted
their annual Community Influencer’s Luncheon at
Skopelos at New World on Tuesday, September 18.
This event is held each year to recognize several key

players who have made a significant impact on the progress,
programs, and community throughout their service and time
donations.  During the luncheon, special guest speakers
Executive Director Lindsey Canon, Jerry Watson, Cynthia
Arnold, and Diana Born discussed the programs the Children’s
Home Society are currently establishing, and connecting with
the families and youth in need in our area. Members of the
Children’s Home Society spoke about the unique Community
Partnership with C.A. Weis Elementary School, and the
influential imprint of access to counseling for children and
families within the program.

CHS offers a multitude of programs to parents of young

or multiple children, and youth who are struggling to regain
their foothold.  The organization partners with several other
businesses and foundations in the community, including
Sunday’s Child, who’s mission is to end teen homelessness,
promote continued education, and reentering the community
in the workforce.  The Youth Works Program strives to provide
solutions to the future, while the Empowered Youth Services
offer training in environmental, disaster, and conservation
skills; to encourage employment opportunities in a job market
that will always be necessary.
