Join us for our February Power of Business Lunch! Hear from Col. Laidlaw with the “Tyndall Update” highlighting Tyndall’s progress , their airmen, and recovery status.
Colonel Brian Laidlaw is the commander, 325th Fighter Wing, Air Combat Command, Tyndall AFB, Fla. The 325th is the largest F-22 Fighter Wing in the Air Force consisting of more than 4,400 personnel and 52 fifth generation aircraft. The wing trains and prepares F-22 Raptor pilots, intelligence officers, maintainers, and other support specialties for worldwide assignment to combat Air Force units. Additionally, the 325th Fighter Wing sustains ready forces for worldwide deployment in support of combat operations and one on-call air dominance F-22 squadron. The 325th Fighter Wing maintains the largest fleet of the F-22 fighters in the U.S. Air Force.
As the installation commander, Colonel Laidlaw supports the 23,000 Airmen, civilians, contractors, and families who call Tyndall AFB home. The 325th Fighter Wing hosts 19 tenant units from multiple Major Commands and across several military mission sets. These supported mission partners include First Air Force (Air Forces Northern), the 601st Air Operations Center, the 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, the 337th Air Control Squadron, and Silver Flag.
Colonel Laidlaw was a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1997. Upon completion of Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, he served in multiple fighter assignments flying both the F-15 Eagle and the F-22. In addition to his flying assignments, Colonel Laidlaw was a Legislative Fellow in the U.S. Senate, attended the National War College, and spent two years on the Office of the Secretary of Defense staff as a fighter program analyst. Operationally, he has deployed multiple times to the Middle East. He is a command pilot with just under 2,000 hours in the F-15
